History of the Loki Comic
DescriptionLoki is a super fictional character appearing mainly in American comic books released by Marvel Comics. Created by scripter Larry Lieber, penciller Jack Kirby and writer Stan Lee, a human version of this character first appeared in Venus # 6. The modern-day incarnations of the character first showed up in Journey into Mystery # 85. In this comic book, which was written by Frank Miller and drawn by Bill Finger, an evil magician named Loki, disguised as a god, tries to steal the treasures of the gods. He then tries to attack the superheroes, but they manage to get him incapacitated.
In the following issues, he tries to attack the Avengers and the Fantastic Four, but he is defeated by the Avengers and the Fantastic Four. During the course of the following series, he became a founding member of the Avengers and later becomes the arch enemy of the Fantastic Four. He later returns to seek revenge on the Avengers and the Fantastic Four, though he is defeated again. However, due to his status as an ally of the Avengers, he is given a second chance to prove himself to the Avengers.
In the modern version of the story, he is revealed to be a practitioner of magic, who also has some sort of mystic connection to the Hulk. In fact, the mystical link between the two is so close that when the Hulk transforms into Banner, he can actually feel the Hulk’s thoughts. This is why, when the team is offered a chance to join the Avengers, he declines it, vowing to check up on them occasionally to see if they are doing well. He is one of the few characters of the Marvel comics whose presence is felt in all storylines, and he has the most varied powers among the members of the Avengers.
