How to Beat Loki in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the second major release for Ubisoft’s flagship franchise. It was released in 2020 for PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox One Series X and Series S, and Stadia and was the best-selling game in the history of the franchise at launch. The game was praised for its narrative, characters, graphics, gameplay, world-design, and soundtrack. It has also received two free and a paid expansion, as well as additional content through the Animus.

Towards the end of the Jotunheim arc, players encounter Basim, who is revealed to be the reincarnation of Loki. Loki is after revenge, having lost his wolf son Fenrir to Odin’s axe. Odin defeats Basim/Loki, but he manages to survive to the modern day inside an ancient Isu computer.

The battle with Loki can be quite difficult as he doesn’t have any clear weak point and is very fast. He will use all his tricks to get past you, such as teleporting everywhere and attacking you at the last minute. He will try to goad you into shooting ranged attacks by standing at a distance and then dash in with a flurry of attacks. He will do this several times in a row and is very hard to predict.

The best way to beat Loki is to parry his attacks and dodge his teleportations. Make sure you equip a shield as his melee attacks are deadly. If you are good at parrying you can take him down quickly. If you have a lot of skill points, you can unlock the Valkyrie jump-stomp ability that will guarantee you a hit and deal significant damage to his health.
