If you’re a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and its movies, comics or TV shows then chances are you’ve come across loki. The god of mischief is a fascinating character who has been brought back to life in recent films and TV shows. However, he’s an ancient Norse mythological figure and his original look is slightly different from the one we’re used to seeing in the movies and TV shows.
In this article, I’ll show you how to draw a loki helmet for those fans who want to add a little bit of the magic from the MCU into their home décor. The first thing you’ll need to do is make a cardboard template for the body of the headpiece, using your reference images for inspiration. You’ll also need a cardboard template for the horns and another for the centre detail.
Start by folding a sheet of paper in half widthways and use it as your base for the template. Sketch the shape you want for the headpiece’s body onto it and cut it out. It’s okay if it looks flat at this stage because we’ll be bringing it into a more curved shape in the next step.
Next, mark a series of small lines about 0.5 cm from the edge of the rim piece and cut along them. This will create the raised rim of the helmet. Once you’ve done that, set the rim aside. Similarly, with the other two head side pieces (the ones you drew earlier) take both of them and line them up together, using the picture as a guide. Glue them, starting at the seam and continuing around the back of the headpiece.
