After Loki is knocked out by Thor, he realizes that his desire to rule is not a path to a throne but a desperate way to avoid showing weakness. He also sees that all of his mischievous actions are based on a deep-seated fear of being alone. This is why he makes long speeches, does elaborate entrances and loves to show off his intelligence in front of others. Seeing himself and Sylvie together in the future helps him understand that they can find acceptance together by becoming a better person and not a bigger monster.
In the Time Cell, Loki reunites with Sylvie. She explains that she is a Variant like him and they are the same person. He reassures her that he still loves her and tells her to not be afraid. He then uses the TemPad to teleport himself and Sylvie somewhere else in the Multiverse. They then meet Ravonna Renslayer, who reveals that she and He Who Remains created the TVA. He then invites them to his office.
After they meet He Who Remains, Loki is surprised to learn that the time loops he has created are all part of a larger timeline. He also learns that he will always be defeated by the TVA, regardless of which timeline he is in. As he is leaving, Sylvie playsfully reminds him that there might be a timeline where she could rule with him and he promises her not to disappoint her.
