One of the most enthralling characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Loki, the Norse god of mischief. He is a cunning trickster who has the ability to change his shape and sex.

He is also a Frost Giant, an alien race that has been tamed to look and act like Asgardians.

In the MCU, he is portrayed as a strong, cunning, and intelligent character. He is a major player in the Avengers franchise.

His character is based on Norse mythology

Hiddleston has said that his eyes change color due to lighting, but there’s no post-production editing to make them blue in The Avengers or green anywhere else (which would be a really odd thing to happen).

There is a theory that Loki’s eyes were blue during the invasion because he was brainwashed by Thanos and had his scepter “controlled” by him. It’s a pretty ridiculous idea, but it’s still a theory.

He was actually able to release himself from the scepter’s control when Thor landed him on the ground, but it wasn’t outright control of his mind as with Hawkeye and Selvig.

I think it’s more of a case of the scepter amplifying the negative feelings Loki already had, rather than completely rewriting them. He wanted to be valued and admired, and he hated himself for having been cast aside by his family. He was manipulated to believe that Odin rescued him from the Jotuns out of compassion, but it was in fact a political move.
