The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a vast place, and it’s easy for things to get confusing. But loki loki avoids that by setting the show within a bizarre story outpost called the Time Variance Authority (the TVA), an organization of bureaucratic time cops whose job is to keep errant events from splitting off from the main timeline.
The show also introduces several new concepts and rules that are sure to get the attention of Marvel fans. Those include the idea of multiple versions of Loki, all of whom have their own rich comic book histories and are likely to continue to inspire MCU adaptations down the line.
Tom Hiddleston is an incredible actor, and he brings the character to life in a way that’s never been done before. This is the deepest look we’ve had at this iconic Marvel character so far, and it’s a truly fantastic performance that will undoubtedly make a lasting impression on fans of the character.
One of the most important aspects of the show is its treatment of Loki’s growth. He’s been a narcissist and compulsive liar before, but this is the first time we really got to see him grow in a major way.
He’s a genuinely changed man by the end of the season, able to grapple with his past and deal with the knowledge that he’ll die in the future. He’s able to take the concept of the TVA and its power seriously, which is not something you typically see from this character.
